Von Valve gibt es bald wieder neues Material zum Half-Life² Universum. In der Box ist auch das nun seit 7 Jahre angekündigte Team Fortress 2 dabei. Heute wurde die Orange Box im Steam Shop freigeschaltet und das Vorladen kann beginnen. Wer über Steam vorbestellt, darf Team Fortress 2 schon am 17. September antesten.
Half-Life²: Episode Two
Valve Spiele verspäten sich oft, auch diese Episode musste das erleben. Wieder mit Alyx an der Seite wiedersetzt man sich gegen die ausserirdischen Eindringlinge, die die Menschheit unterdrücken. Da in Half-Life² und erst recht in Episode One viele Fragen offen blieben, sollen wir diesmal ein paar Antworten bekommen, die nicht nur neue Fragen aufwerfen.
Team Fortress 2
Vom 2. Weltkrieg über 'Codename Invasion' bis zum heutigen Comic-Look. Team Fortress 2 hätte alles werden können, doch es bleibt dem Original treu und ist ein klassenbasiertes Multiplayerspiel. Alle bekannten Klassen, die meistgespielten Karten und 2 Flaggen. Zusätzlich wurden allen neuen Karten neue Spielmodi hinzugefügt, zum Beispiel den bekannten Conquer Modus oder eine Karte die jede Runde andere Wege bietet (Muss man sich wohl wie cs_havana vorstellen). Mit so vielen Klassen die jede ein anderes Spielerlebnis und witzige Animationen bereit hält, gibt es trotzdem wieder viel zu entdecken.
Team Fortress 2: 1999 und heute.
Portal
Die Entwickler von Portal wurden von Valve Scouts an der Universität von Seattle entdeckt. Sie erstellten das Spiel Narbacular Drop und Valve war davon so begeistert, dass sie die Gruppe gleich zu sich ins Entwicklerbüro eingeladen haben, um Narbacular Drop in der Source Engine als Portal umzusetzen. Rausgekommen ist eine Art Puzzle Spiel, in dem man als Testperson ein Gerät mit dem Namen 'Handheld Portal Device' benutzt, um kleine Hindernisse oder riesige Abgründe zu umgehen.
Zusätzlich erhält man noch das Hauptspiel Half-Life² und Episode One. Wer diese schon hat, bekommt kleine Geschenkcodes die er Freunden weitergeben kann, die diese Spiele noch nicht haben. Nach 6 Jahren Entwicklunszeit mit vielen Hindernissen können wir es endlich Spielen. Die Retail Version, die es jetzt überall im Handel zu kaufen gibt, kann man mit dem Bronze Paket vergleichen. Also Halfe-Life 2 und Counter-Strike: Source. Die Installation verläuft mit einem "Steam Install Wizard", also wird jeder mit Steam konfrontiert, da man während der Installation den Key authentifizieren muss. Das heisst auch, dass eine Internetverbindung bestehen muss. Dass sollte aber heute kein Problem mehr sein, jeder kann ein 56K Modem einstöpseln  .

Die Nachricht der Erlösung, das Warten hat ein Ende. Half-Life 2 hat endlich den Gold Status erreicht. Vivendi Universal ist mit dem Zustand des Spieles zufrieden, nun muss es nur noch vervielfältigt werden.
Half-Life 2 erscheint am 16 November 2004 in den Läden.

Heute Abend wurden die Steam Versionen von Half-Life 2 zum Kauf und Counter Strike Source Full freigeschaltet. Die ATI-Gutscheine werden als Bronze Version gewertet und man kann damit ab sofort CSS spielen. HL2 lässt immer noch auf sich warten und wird erst verfügbar, wenn es im Laden steht.
